Dr. Ashok K. Thareja - President & CEO

Ashok Thareja founded A&T Systems in 1984.  During the last 24 years he has led the company's development through both internal growth and acquisitions. He enabled the acquisitions of VCampus, Inotech and of Tominy.  In 1997 A&T incubated and funded Snare Networks.  Dr, Thareja guided its product marketing and financial strategy.  In September 1999, Computer Associates acquired Snare Networks. 
 
In April 1999, he founded Orblynx and led the company as its Chairman and CEO for two years. Through Orblynx, he experienced the great telecom roller coaster ride from incubating the company through personal assets, getting the company funded with $50 million of venture money, launching a highly valued global content distribution business to dissolving the company as the capital markets shut down for the telecom sector.
 
He currently serves on the Board of Visitors for the College of Computer, Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park.
 
Prior to being at A&T Systems, as a research faculty member, Dr. Thareja led research at the Laboratory for Parallel Computation at the University of Maryland. There he directed research and development efforts in parallel processing. He also conducted research in performance monitoring and modeling of UNIX systems. Prior to that he was at BGS Systems. As an R&D Manager at BGS Systems, he developed modeling tool, BEST/1-SNA for IBM's SNA networks. Dr. Thareja received his Ph.D. in Computer Science, in the area of performance modeling of computer networks such as ARPANET, at the University of Maryland.
   
 

J.R. "Rick" Hundley - Chief Operating Officer


Mr. Hundley joined A&T Systems, Inc. in September 2009, as Chief Operating Officer for the corporation in the Silver Spring, MD corporate headquarters.  He brings the benefit of 25 years of senior leadership experience with leading corporations in the aerospace and defense sectors, with high technology products and services, such as Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics and the Safran Group.

Mr. Hundley has held senior management positions in corporate staff assignments, and P&L management assignments for companies and for business units of corporations. Additionally, he had had progressive assignments in program management, business development, and in Congressional Affairs assignments. Mr. Hundley holds MBA (finance and accounting), and BS degrees, and has attended senior leadership programs with Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics corporations. E-mail: rick.hundley@ats.com

 
 
 
Mureed Nazir - Chief Technology & Information Officer, CTO/CIO
As A&T Systems CTO and CIO, Mureed Nazir is responsible to set information management strategy and direction to develop and deploy IT plans that can achieve strategic business goals for the company and its clients. Mr. Nazir is involved with the architecture and design, installation and administration of LAN/WAN systems in datacenter infrastructures with Windows, Novell, UNIX, Cisco and TCP/IP devices and equipment.  He is fluent in Computing Center Operations and Maintenance with a vast knowledge of Security, COOP, Programming, Platforms and Networking.

Mr. Nazir is an accomplished Executive Manager of Information Technology with demonstrated success in developing strategies and directing technology initiatives that have produced high levels of performance and profitability. He has developed state-of-the-art system architectures with significant exposure to complex, multi-location systems, Storage Area Networks, security, and high volume environments. Mr. Nazir is an enthusiastic leader, with proven ability to build, challenge and motivate teams in order to maximize levels of productivity and has excellent communications skills to support documentation development, proposal writing, change management, and contract negotiation. Mr. Nazir has a deep understanding of how technology impacts and supports business.
 
Mr. Nazir has earned his BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, along with a BS from the University of Karachi, Pakistan, an MS from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and a Ph.D (pending dissertation) in Environmental and Hydrological Engineering with an emphasis on computer applications, simulations and digital modeling.  E-mail: mureed.nazir@ats.com
 
 
Fred Sanders - VP, Strategic Relationships, Sales & Marketing

Fred Sanders is responsible for the IT Managed Services practice and sales in civilian federal agencies and within the State of Maryland. Since joining A&T in 1997, Mr. Sanders leads the corporate marketing efforts and manages the many partner relationships that A&T has with other technology providers and subcontractors. A technology veteran, Mr. Sanders previously served as VP Sales Mid-Atlantic for Essential Resources Inc. (ERI), Computer Associates, Sybase and Data General.  He began his marketing career as a principal of ZADCO, a Washington-based Advertising, Marketing and PR firm managing national clients such as Dale Carnegie Institutes and LifeAlert. Mr. Sanders attended the City University of New York where he earned his BS in Physics and Marketing.
 
 
 
 
Adam Nouravarsani - VP, Telecommunications & Infrastructure Services

Adam Nouravarsani started his career at A&T Systems in July 2000 by joining InoTech, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of A&T Systems as a Lead Technical VP. Shortly thereafter he was appointed President and CEO of InoTech leading the company into Network and Systems Management Services for both commercial and Government customers. In 2004 InoTech and A&T Systems merged and Mr. Nouravarsani began heading the Telecommunications and Infrastructure Services divisions of A&T Systems as a Vice President. He is also Program Manager for all of A&T Systems’ GWACs, MAS contracts.

Mr. Nouravarsani  is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln Engineering College and has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Before joining A&T Systems, he was President of Digicon Technologies, Inc. in Austin, Texas and VP of Network Management Services at Sytel, Inc.  Mr. Nouravarsani  started his career in IT and Telecommunication in December of 1983 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Computing Services Department.  E-mail: adam@ats.com
 
 

 

Carl Carlee - Facility Security Officer


Carl Carlee as the Facilities Security Officer is responsible for facilities management and overall security compliance of A&T Systems. In addition, Mr. Carlee has served as the Automated Air Load Planning System (AALPS) Team Lead since October 21, 2005, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the AALPS Team.  Mr. Carlee has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Strayer University. 

 

Mr. Carlee served in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983 and was assigned to the security detail of the Presidential Helicopter Squadron HMX-1 (Marine One). In 1983, Mr. Carlee joined the Baltimore County Police Department. During his 20 years as a police officer, Mr. Carlee obtained the rank of sergeant. In 1988, Mr. Carlee continued his military career by enlisting in the Maryland Air National Guard. Mr. Carlee served as the Functional Records Manager and as a Logistics Management Specialist for the 175th Wing.  E-mail: carl.carlee@ats.com
